Steps to resolve the "error in the licensing protocol" connection error:

(Note: you must be using Internet Explorer and must be logged in as an administrator.)
Click the following link:

When prompted, choose "Run". If you receive a security warning, then please click "Allow" and then "Continue". Then click "Yes".

You will see a message stating that the information has been successfully entered into the registry.

If you are using Windows XP or 2000, you are done. If you are using Windows Vista, there is an additional step:

Go to Start->All Programs->Accessories. Then RIGHT-click on "Remote Desktop Connection" and choose "run as administrator". Click "Continue".

Now enter "internet.icanotes.com" into the Computer box. Click "Connect".

You may connect as normal the next time you wish to connect to ICANotes.
